An “Education City” is not an abstract idea – it is a worldview, yet also a combination of requirement, addressing the concrete needs of the city and its citizens, a series of opportunities to promote the city and its citizens, several “engines” that drive the urban evolution, and clear goals.
For this concept to be realized, the courageous initiative of mayors is required, as well as a systematic process that begins with mapping relevant aspects, and continues with the co-creation of a vision, a desired image of the future, a strategy to promote this future image, and a practical plan of action. The journey, from the conceptual stage to its realization and achieving its inherent benefits, is exciting, and requires professional, systematic, and determined planning and execution.
